From February the 11th to the 14th of 2016, the sixty-second session of the Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) was held in Boston, USA; which brings together over 3000 delegates from more than 70 countries to discuss the most critical global challenges.

The BNU representative team for HNMUN 2016 was selected from the entire university, Zhang Haiyan and Chang Xinyang from Business School were selected as the leading teachers and Chen Zhuowen was selected as the student team leader.

In this year’s HNMUN, the BNU team represented the “Singapore Delegation”. BNU Business School students (Chen Zhuowen, Wang Lijia, Wang Haiwan, Song Jiaqian, Sun Rongxin, Zhao Yalan, Liu Yang, Kong Lingxiang and Zhang Huilin) performed remarkably well and gained appraisal from the organizing committee. During the four days of the event, gathering with students from other prestigious universities such as Harvard, Yale and NYU; the representative teams discussed critical global challenges that we currently face, such as economic and social issues, emerging urban cities construction, international nuclear weapons as well as children and women’s right protection; also participating in rich and interesting communication activities, which contributes to the friendship between global universities’ students.

BNU representatives fully prepared for this event through background information reading and relevant materials writing. In the event they actively discussed and argued with other “nation’s” representatives, which helped to broaden their international vision and increase their social responsibility awareness; also receiving high appraisal, which contributed to the image display of Beijing Normal University.
